Computer component, core store, in sealed plastic bag, metal/plastic, Plessey, England, 1950-1960.
Magnetic core memory device, core unit is contained in a box. The box is constructed from a silver painted metal frame. Heavy gauge acrylic sides have been bolted to this frame and the core unit is bolted to one side of the acrylic. The frame has runners either side and a handle on the front face. At the rear there are 4 multi pin sockets. On the front is a small white laminated plastic plaque, engraved "LOCK OUT CORE PLANE", there is also a manufacturer's label, silver and black under the handle, "Plessey/CORE STORE/Serial No.0658".

Manufacturer's marks on the memory unit as in description. Numbers, handwritten on the outside surface of the bag in blue and black felt tip marker, "KD57/R1045"
