The scrapbook was assembled by Paul Ungar,(Ruth Sife's father), after he retired from Princeton. Ruth and her husband Herbert Sife took over the company. Information gained from interview with Ruth Sife in 1996. Transcript of interview on blue file.

Note on blue file regarding photographs included in scrapbook. Transcript of 1996 interview with Ruth Sife "As Sphinx, the company would photograph the clothing styles themselves with a professional photographer and then the country traveller would take around a book of photos and swatches and the shops would order from these or from actual garments".

Scrapbook, (1), Sphinx Apparel/Princeton, paper, assembled by Paul Ungar, Sydney, c1945-1980. Scrapbook containing black and white fashion photographs and clippings from magazines and newspapers relating to Sphinx Apparel and Princeton, an Australian manufacturer of womens clothing. The loose photocraphs and clippings have been rehoused in archival folders. No parts have been entered. Anyone wishing to touch these scrapbooks should do so with a registrar.
