Bowl, 'Devilish chaos', glass, Toots Zynsky, The Netherlands, 1995. The bowl was made in the artist's studio in Amsterdam in 1995 most probably for the exhibition 'Toots Zynsky - Recent chaos' from which it was acquired. Designed by Toots Zynsky as part of her new (begun in 1993) 'Chaos and order' series. Made from fused and slumped Venetian glass threads coloured in black, orange, yellow, pale pink and icy blue. The threads of glass have been laid side by side to form strips of one colour. Each of these strips is then overlaid, one on top of another at different angles to create a patchwork effect.
