Description
Scrapbook and letters, printing trade, leather/paper, FT Wimble, England/Australia, 1859-1935
Scrap book, bound with green leather cover, black leather trimming and gold embossed text along spine and front. Endpapers are cream with a printed pale green floral repetitive design. Inside pages are made from heavy paper and there are cardboard inserts between pages. While there are some blank pages towards the end of the book, most pages have colour wood engravings adhered to them. The images in these cards depict landscapes from around the world, interiors of landmark buildings, royalty and scenes from Shakespearean plays. Some handwritten text appears on various pages. One image is a drawing in ink copied from the original picture by J. Reading entitled "South Sea Bubble" in the National Gallery, London.
