Designed by Helen Rose for the 1953 MGM musical film 'Easy to Love'. Made by the costume department at MGM studio. Esther Williams made films for MGM from 1942 to 1954.
The label attached to the costume reads '1621/2909 ESTHER WILLIAMS'. 'Easy to Love' was MGM production number 1621 and its costumes were designed by Helen Rose. Williams can be seen wearing the costume in the image on the front page of the sheet music for the song 'Look Out! I'm Romantic' which came from the film.
Worn by Esther Williams in the 1953 MGM musical film 'Easy to Love'. Purchased by the donor at an MGM warehouse sale.

One piece woman's swimsuit made of pink crepe ruched up the centre front with a ruffle at centre front crotch. The bodice is decorated with pink silk satin applique leaves which are decorated with small pink stones collette set on a metal hase and glued on larger pink stones. The single strap similarly decorated goes from right front to left back. Centre back V-shaped panel of pink stretch nylon jersey and zipper fastening with two small metal hooks and eyes. Whole is lined with browny pink stetch nylon webbing and the bras cups are wired over top of bosom and lined with pink silk satin. Handwritten fabric label: '1621/2909 ESTHER WILLIAMS'
