Double sided printed letter of introduction, black text on cream ground, with some handwritten notes in pencil. Obverse is printed horizontally, with the page to be folded in half to form a leaflet. The facing page is blank, the text consists of a letter of introduction from Guillaume Jandaschevsky (sic), Director of the Zig Zag troupe, to prospective employers "of my celebrated troupe of ballet dancers, fairy tales, pantomimes all genres, eccentric acrobatic clowns, living scenes." Reverse printed vertically, outlining the repertoire of the Zig Zag troupe. It consists of a programme divided into 5 parts including: eccentrics and acrobatics such as Lili Lolo Lala, eccentric clowns and the 3 Pierrots eccentric dancing acrobats; 21 dances ballets and diversions such as the devil and the sylphs and eccentric Pierrots; tableaux vivants (living scenes) groups composed, arranged and copied from celebrated masters of sculpture and painting; a large pantomime with 28 individual acts including "Love in the convent", "Heaven paradise and hell", "Pierrot in Africa"; with a supplementary fifth section including the birth of harlequin and the gold monster.
