Coin, stater, Alexander III (the Great) (336-323 BC), gold, Macedonia [Western Asia Minor mint], 323-280 BC.
Circular gold disc, with designs in relief on either side.
Obverse: head of Athena wearing Corinthian helmet, in profile, facing right. Reverse: winged Nike with stylis facing left, in field right ALEXANDROU in field left, a griffin with uncertain symbol (listed by Price p631).
