Maria Gales Ramsay set up a foundation during the 1950 and 1960 for disadvantaged boys who required medical attention. She purchased clothing for them intending to pass it onto children returning from hospital. She never did and ended up sending a large collection to her daughter, the donor.

Boys winter suit comprising a long sleeve brown tweed jacket with two welt pockets at the front and fully lined with beige polyester. There are two brown leather buttons at each cuff and three down centre front. The jacket has a double vent in the back. The trousers are made of a dark brown wool blend with a elastic waist and two side pockets. They have a centre front fly zipper fastening with two metal slide clips on the waist band. The shirt is a white short sleeve cotton shirt with one breast pocket and four white plastic buttons down centre front.
