Object statement
Outfit, girls, nylon/orlon/cotton, Florence Eiseman/Bergdorf Goodman/Amcrest, USA, c. 1965
These items of clothing was purchased in the 1950s and 1960s by Maria Gales Ramsay for her grandchildren Diana and Angela Lacamera. She put them into storage meaning to send them to her daughter but began to accumulate so much in storage she was not sure what was in each box. Over a 15 year period she accumulated hundreds of boxes of clothing and items she always meant to send off but never did. Her daughter Mara Lacamera, the donor, only now received a huge crate filled with the clothing her mother meant for Mara's daughters to wear. The children are now in their thirties.
This outfit was made for the department store in New York, Bergdorf Goodman.
