The handbag was purchased by the vendor's father in Budapest and sent to the vendor in Australia in 1941, it is unsure, however, where the bag was designed.

This handbag was made 1915-1935.
Georgette Zala migrated from Vienna to Australia in 1938. This handbag was went to her by her father in 1941.

Description
Handbag, crocodile skin, maker unknown, Europe, 1915-1935.

Handbag made of black crocodile skin and fully lined with snake skin and peach coloured silk satin. The bag has a fold over opening with two metal snap fasteners and a short handle decorated with two small claws. The interior has a large zippered pocket, an envelope type pocket with snap fastener on one side and two small pockets on the other, one containing a small coin purse, next to the pocket is a short string of leather with a metal hook on the end for keys to be attached.

The coin purse is made of the same skin as the lining and itself is lined with peach coloured silk satin, it has two compartments and a fold over opening with metal snap fastener.
