Description
Tray, electrotype reproduction, Elkington and Co., England, c.1880. Circular platter with raised edge; in well, concentric circles in raised bands. Edge repousse with band of flowers and foliage amongst which are birds and squirrels (OF). Plate, circular; from the Roman specimen discovered at Hildesheim; Edge repousse' with band of flowers and foliage amongst which are birds and squirrels; diameter 11 3/4"; Silvered (LC). The Hildesheim Treasure:- Large round plateau; 1874 / 341 (SB).
