Stew pan, electrotype reproduction, Elkington and Co., England, c.1880. Stew pot, deep concave bowl with outward flaring rim and incised band; long flat handle with symmetrical design ending in birds' heads (OF). Stewpot with Palm leaf handle; from the Roman specimens discovered at Hildesheim; long flat handle ending in birds' heads; Height 3", diameter 5 3/8" (LC). The Hildesheim Treasure:- Stew-pan with Palm-leaf handle; 1874 / 327 (SB).
