Salver, electrotype reproduction, Elkington and Co., England, c.1880. Electrotype circular salver with repousse designs over whole upper surface except concave sides of well which are smooth. Gadrooned rim. Well composed of three circular sections: an outer horizontal ring, an intermediary convex ring and a central circular medallion bearing a classical-type figure of a woman in diaphenous robes, seated and holding a chalice and ewer. The word: "TEMPE/RANTIA" in raised letters on both sides of her head. The outer and intermediary panels of the well covered in repousse designs of medallion heads and strapwork of silver and humban figures and deer surrounded by foliate scrolls and fruit in gilt (OF). Plateau, German (electrotype) (LC). Dish 52/8 (SB).
