The manufacture and distribution of surgical garments were significant facets of the Berlei company's business. This girdle was part of Berlei's reference collection.
Surgical support, 'Cadenza', womens semi-surgical girdle, elastic/rayon/cotton/lycra, S H Camp & Co, USA, 1964.
Girdle made of white floral cotton/rayon damask with white elastic panels down sides surrounding centre front and centre back panels of damask. Back panel is heavily boned with inner velvet sockets, and front panel covers a lightly boned inner panel. Six suspenders around hem. Centre front opening fastens with a metal zipper with a short white cord attached to the tab and lined with a velvet placket.
