Purchased new sometime between 1947-1948
History Notes include facts about what has happened to an object since manufacture. This could include who owned it and how it was used (provenance). It may also describe any cultural meanings with which it may have become associated. History notes
The object was purchased new by Mr Marks (vendor) in 1947 or 1948 and used by him at home until the late 1970s. Thereafter it was kept in the vendor's flat but not used as an entertainment system. Mr Marks was the proprietor of Australia's main music typesetting company, Harmony Musicopy Service, from 1961 to 1990. Many transcriptions from disc made by the company were done with the aid of this machine.
