In 1965 the Sarawak Government recognised Hedda Morrison's services to Sarawak through photography, by awarding her the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (Officer of the Order of the Star of Sarawak, the equivalent of an Order of the British Empire or OBE). Photograph, 'Receiving the Pegawi Bintang Sarawak', black and white, silver gelatin print, Kuching, Sarawak, dated 28 November 1966.

This image is of Hedda receiving the Honorary Pegawi Bintang Sarawak (Officer of the Order of the Star of Sarawak), from the Governor of Sarawak for her services to Sarawak through photography. It is signed by the Governor of Sarawak, Tun Abang Haji Openg Bin Abang Sapi'ee, and dated 28 November 1966. A man in official dress with a white coat and a sash in the foreground holds paperwork, and in the middleground the Governor in official dress shakes Hedda's hand. Between them a lady is seated, probably the Governor's wife. Hedda is wearing a floral dress. An official wearing a sash is seated against a wall in the background next to a woman.
