Description
[Woman's] swim robe, polyester / cotton towelling, 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, Speedo Australia Pty Ltd, Australia, 1988.
Two tone green and bright yellow polyester cotton terry towelling. Loose fitting to below the knee or mid calf length, long sleeves and shawl collar, self fabric belt tie and two large patch pockets at front, mid thigh level. The body and sleeves of the robe are in bright yellow, the collar, front facings belt and belt tabs and underarm gussets all in dark green. Machine embroidered across upper back, 'AUSTRALIA' in green. 'SPEEDO' and boomerang logo embroidered in yellow on the upper left of the collar reverse. This garment could have been worn by either sex, but swing tag gives women's sizings.

Cardboard swing tags (3) attached. One printed with 'SHAPING UP / WITH / SPEEDO' with care and sizing information on the reverse. Second tag printed with 'SPEEDO' and boomerang logo, also inscribed in black ink 'TERRY / ROBE / SUPPLIED FOR / 1988 SEOUL / OLYMPIC GAMES'. Third a small tag with the stars of the Southern Cross, 'ALL TOGETHER / AUSTRALIAN / SPEEDO' with boomerang logo and promotional information on the reverse. Printed fabric label with boomerang logo and 'SPEEDO / S / TO FIT / CHEST 75-80 cms / 65% POLYESTER / 35% COTTN / MADE IN AUSTRALIA' with care instructions on the reverse.
