Object statement
Invitation, printed, to opening of a photographic exhibition by Henry Talbot, 'A walk through Henry Talbot's head', Gallery A, South Yarra, Melbourne, Victoria, 3 October 1968, designed by Bruce Weatherhead, Melbourne, 1968
Designed by Bruce Weatherhead when he was emerging as a leading Australian graphic designer in the 1960s.
He was elected into the Paperpoint / Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) Hall of Fame, along with Alex Stitt and Dahl and Geoffrey Collings, in 2002.
Weatherhead and Stitt were creative partners for a decade and during that time they designed animation characters, books, logos and posters, as well as games and toys which they sold through the Jigsaw Factory, a magic kingdom for children and adults. During this time, Weatherhead and Stitt also collaborated with Fred Schepisi as he was beginning to produce his first films.
This object is part of the Richard Beck design archive 92/1256.

Note from designer Bruce Weatherhead:
The big head was actually shapes suspended in space within the gallery, and the public walked through these literally into Henry Talbot's head. (BW 2006)
