Gas generator, metal/wood, William Quirk/Modern Lighting Ltd, Melbourne, 1909-1920

The main body of the generator consists of a steel drum mounted laterally on a base and surmounted by a rectangular box and miniature gasometer, all painted green. A wooden handle and winch are attached to one end of the drum. The winch cable connects to two compound pulleys and seven cylindrical weights.
