Wall vase, earthenware, made by John Castle-Harris, New South Wales, Australia, 1930-1940
Wall vase, earthenware, which is ogee-shaped in section with a flat back and barbed rim. The vase has a faceted front which tapers to become triangular in section towards the base. The vase features three tropical fish, modelled in high relief and applied to the front. The exterior of the vase is glazed in a mottled dark pink, with the fish highlighted in pink, green and pale blue. The interior is blue glazed, while the back is pierced at the top for suspension.

Maker's mark, incised on the reverse under clear glaze, 'Castle-Harris [underlined]'.
