Platter, stoneware, made by Reg Preston, Warrandyte, Victoria, 1978
Large square platter made of stoneware, slab-built, raised on a high square foot. The platter has straight cut edges and a shallow concave well. The well and the underside area below the outer part of the platter are glazed with an olive green celadon glaze with the well featuring splashed copped red streaks as the dominant decoration and a brushed white line along two opposite edges. The foot rim and underside of the base are unglazed.
Marks
Signature mark "PRESTON' painted under the base and 'P' monogram impressed above the foot. Paper label 'CMO.../PRESTON/DEC '78' adhered under the base.
