Flat, rectangular, dark grey plate with raised image of coat of arms for Royal Exchange Assurance, raised outer rectangular border. On the "U" shaped coat of arms are two sailing vessels above a grand building with central tower. Atop the coat of arms is a female warrior figure. Either side of coat of arms stand two male figures: on left is a sailor holding an anchor, on right a crowned figure holding a three pronged object. Beneath the coat of arms, in reverse and in sunken form is written: "TRADE & NAVIGATION"; below this also revesed & in raised print: "ROYAL EXCHANGE ASSURANCE".
In raised and reversed print on top left of plate: "BEARERS"; on top right of plate: "DNMTD/DO NOT FLATTEN/OR/PIERCE METAL"
